Why is CTY so hard to describe? What makes it so different from the rest of the world that we end up sighing, ending stories with “it’s just … I can’t describe it. You have to go to understand it.”
CTY is a place where you can walk up and hug a stranger and they’ll hug you back. And you can probably do the same with kissing.
The CTY I knew was a place without hate and full of forgiveness and a genuine lust for understanding. It was riddled with carefree teenage fools. In the Shakespearian sense of a fool.
CTY is love without drama.
It’s sexuality without sex.
And yet it is drama and it is sex.
Communism would work would that man were good and every man were a philosopher (in the sense that every man philosophized, not that he walked around teaching and starving). But he’s not. Capitalism assumes man is greedy. It’s pathetic and miserable, but man does seem to be inherently bad. Not all the time, but inevitably man is bad.
CTY is a successful communist experiment. Existing within the fascist regime (apologies to non-CTYers because you’re totally going to miss this), we manage to survive and in fact to thrive in our own universe, oblivious to the world. Even when we complain about the fascists, its just philosophical banter rather than actual concern. We don’t truthfully care because our universe is silent and nothing else exists.
It’s the last stand of childhood. Pure. You can’t explain what it’s like to look through glass so pure that you can see through 20 miles of it. You have to see it to understand.
I have successfully gotten nowhere.
amazing day!!!
Cal Games was so fun, and I didn’t even know the team actually took my idea of calling the robot Dory until I saw the program. Space Cookies finally has some awards to put next to 254’s bajillions.

This is not at this competition, but a glimpse of us. Looking normal as usual.

- Dad: Why do you take so long to come out of the house? You're going to be late for violin class!
- Me: Sorry sorry, I couldn't find my violin.
- Dad: WHAT? You couldn't find your violin? That's like a soldier who cannot find his weapon
- Me: Dad... what are you talking about.
1. I’ve owed you a letter from a while ago! and I only have one page done..it’ll be my goal over this 4 day weekend to have the letter in your mailbox soon
2. You look very peaceful when you sleep hahaha. Thanks to you, I couldn’t concentrate on indefinite integrals.
3. Give me captain crunch s’il vous plait
4. You’re so beautiful - inside and out. And what makes me even more insane, is that you don’t even realize it
5. Why are you so confusing? Make up your mind on when you want to talk to me.
6. I miss you a lot. I wish we could talk like old times
7. Your laugh is so contagious. How glorious
8. Whatta Ferd.
9. I can’t wait until your wedding. You in a dress, kissing your husband. heh heh heh
10. MAKE TESTS EASIER
I saw a lot of people doing this a while back, but I shall attempt:
Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
Day Three: Eight ways to win your heart.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot (in no order whatsoever)
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two smileys that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.
